The award goes to the outstanding college player who exemplifies discipline, team play, desire to excel, mature judgement and respect for leadership.

Mayfield was the Big 12 Player of the Week last week after leading the Sooners to a 44-34 victory over Baylor, completing 24-of-34 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for 76 yards and another score.

A list of five finalists for the Walter Camp Award will be announced Dec. 2 and the winner will be announced Dec. 10.
