Marlins' Jose Fernandez, Steve Cishek share NL weekly honor

A day after teaming up to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez and closer Steve Cishek were named co-winners of the National League Player of the Week Award on Monday.
Fernandez went 2-0 with a 2.40 ERA during the week. He allowed two runs and five hits in both starts -- seven innings at Colorado on Tuesday night and eight innings against Pittsburgh on Sunday, when he struck out a career-high -- and Marlins rookie record -- 13 Pirates.
Cishek had five saves during the week, including both of Fernandez's wins. The reliever allowed no runs and four hits in five innings overall.
For the season, Fernandez is 7-5 with a 2.71 ERA. Cishek is 3-5 with a 2.89 ERA and 22 saves in 24 opportunities.
