Lightning's Ondrej Palat collects Rookie of the Month honors again
Ondrej Palat has earned another NHL Rookie of the Month honor.
The winger was named the league's best rookie for March, topping Calgary Flames center Joe Colborne, Anaheim Ducks winger Patrick Maroon, Florida Panthers center Nick Bjugstad and Lightning center Tyler Johnson for the award.
Palat, who was named NHL Rookie of the Month for January, had five goals and 11 assists in 16 March games. He earned at least one point in nine of those contests, a run that included a five-game assist/point streak from March 8-17.
A former seventh-round pick in the 2011 NHL draft, the 23-year-old native of Frydek-Mistek, Czech Republic, has played in 75 games this season. He ranks second among rookies in assists (32) and points (51), in addition to ranking fourth in goals (19).
