Kelly sent to AAA, Cardinals trim roster to 37 players

Cardinals catcher Carson Kelly will begin the year in AAA after the team sent him and three others down to the minors on Monday.

After the Cardinals' 3-2 win over the Houston Astros, the club sent Kelly, infielder Patrick Wisdom, outfielder Adolis Garcia and pitcher Mike Mayers to the AAA Memphis Redbirds.

These transactions reduce the number of players in the team’s Major League camp to 37, including nine non-roster invitees.
