Johnny Knoxville, Mat Hoffman Describe the Legend of Evel Knievel
He was a daredevil. He was a showman. He was a total badass.
Evel Knievel embodied the spirit of boldly going where no man had gone before, and became an icon in the process. His motorcycle jumps and death defying stunts got the world's attention, with a brashness and bravado the likes of which no one had seen before. Knievel was a true original. The story of his rise and fall, and rise again is equally remarkable.
In 'Being Evel', director Daniel Junge, along with producers Johnny Knoxville and Mat Hoffman chronicle how Knievel went from modest beginnings in South Dakota, to becoming a household name in the 1970's. A larger than life personality who had it all from private jets, an action figure and was a mainstay on ABC's Wide World of Sports. Along with Knoxville and Hoffman, Tony Hawk, George Hamilton (who played Knievel in his biopic) and the late Frank Gifford give their respective accounts of the legend that was Evel Knievel.
'Being Evel' is in theaters now.
