Johansen NHL First Star of the Week

Columbus, Ohio -- Columbus Blue Jackets center Ryan Johansen has been named the National Hockey League's First Star of the Week for the period ending January 25, the League and club announced today. Erik Karlsson of the Ottawa Senators was named Second Star and the Minnesota Wild's Zach Parise was the Third Star of the Week.
Johansen, 22, scored two goals and added two assists and was named Most Valuable Player at the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game held at Nationwide Arena on Sunday. His four-point performance tied the club record for points in an All-Star Game by a Blue Jacket. Rick Nash also collected 2-2-4 in the 2007 All-Star Game at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Johansen also won the Breakaway Challenge event during Saturday's Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition.
The Port Moody, British Columbia native leads the Blue Jackets in points and assists and ranks second in goals with 17-26-43 in 45 games this season. He is the only player in the NHL with two point-scoring streaks of 10 games or more in 2014-15. He picked up a point in an NHL season-high 13 consecutive games from Dec. 18 to Jan. 17 (8-8-16) and had a 10-game streak from Oct. 9-31 (5-8-13).
The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they host the Washington Capitals. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.
