Indians' offensive outburst includes several milestones
It was a night of offensive milestones for the Cleveland Indians.
In the first inning, Carlos Santana joined Grady Sizemore, Kenny Lofton, and Shin-Soo Choo as the only Indians to, in a single season, hit five or more home runs to lead off a game. Santana is now two homers shy of his career high of 27, which he set in 2011 and 2014. However, he was later forced to leave the game after being struck by foul ball in the dugout. He suffered a contusion on the right side of his head, and his status going forward was still undetermined as of the end of the game.
Los is the 4th player in club history with 5+ lead-off HRs in a single season.

In the fifth, Mike Napoli slugged his 29th home run of the season, the most by an Indians right-handed hitter since Ellis Burks smashed 32 in 2002. Like Santana, Napoli is also closing in on a personal best; one more long ball will tie his previous high of 30 from 2011.
The red-hot Jose Ramirez immediately followed Napoli's with a home run of his own, his seventh of the season and a new career best. The dinger extended Ramirez's hit streak to 15 games, the longest current streak in the American League.
Ramirez also scored the Indians' 9,000th regular season run at Jacobs Field/Progressive Field in the first inning when he touched home on Lonnie Chisenhall's three-run double.
