How they voted: Badgers in 2016 AP football poll (Week 12)
With a number of top teams losing last weekend it had an expected shakeup in the Associated Press top-25 poll and the Wisconsin Badgers were among those affected.
Wisconsin was ranked No. 7 on nearly every ballot last week. It's no surprise, then, that the Badgers were placed the most at No. 6 this week, what with all the teams above them losing, especially then-No. 4 Washington.
But there are, as always, outliers.
Eight AP voters have Wisconsin at No. 5 -- for six of these it meant moving the Badgers up two spots from last week (the other two had UW at No. 6).
Four AP voters have Wisconsin at No. 4, all moving the Badgers up three spots from last week. All four moved UW in front of Michigan, which lost at Iowa, a team Wisconsin beat on the road (but of course the Badgers also lost 14-7 at Michigan). Another voter, Bob Asmussen, has Michigan No. 6, with Oklahoma No. 5. Andy Greder also has Oklahoma at 5, but has Michigan at 7 behind Washington. Greder also has LSU ranked No. 9 and Penn State No. 16. Needless to say it is an interesting ballot.
Speaking of interesting ballots, there's Josh Kendall. He has Wisconsin at No. 3. Yes, third in the country. Of course, Kendall also has Louisville at 2 and Penn State at 4, followed by Ohio State, Florida State, Oklahoma and USC.
On the flip side, three voters moved Wisconsin down a spot, from 7 to 8. In two of the case -- Adam Zucker and Bill Landis -- they moved Penn State, which won at Indiana, up ahead of the Badgers. That's an interesting move, albeit one which could be decided in the Big Ten title game. Steve Wiseman moved one-loss West Virginia, which beat Texas, into the spot ahead of Wisconsin.
