Goodell will try anything to spice up the Pro Bowl

First it was playing it on the mainland. Then the NFL commissioner considering scrapping the Pro Bowl altogether. Now, it looks like the NFL is willing to try it playground-style. According to Pro Football Talk, Goodell is considering having team captains pick the teams. Can you imagine it? Peyton Manning picking for the AFC, while his brother Eli selects the NFC side (minus his daughter in the photo of course.) So, what was once an All-Star Game full of willing participants in the sun and glow of Hawaii could turn into this:

This new format could happen as soon as this coming season, as Goodell is discussing this issue along with many others at the NFL Spring Meeting in Boston. Hey, are any of you getting flashbacks to your days back in elementary school? Remember? Standing there sweating during your 20 minutes of recess, hoping that either Sean or Michael picks you before the player pool shrinks to you, the kid with Forrest Gump leg braces and this guy:

Speaking of which, if this new format actually goes through, what position would go first? Would you take an Adrian Peterson? Maybe a Calvin Johnson? Do you go defense with Patrick Willis or Aldon Smith? Personally, we here at Laces Out would draft all offensive linemen. Then we'd make sure our squads was "skins" instead of "shirts."
