Get fired up for Lightning opener with 'Countdown to Thunder Week' on Sun Sports

TAMPA, Fla. -- With the start of the 2014-15 NHL regular season just over a week away, Sun Sports, the regional television home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, will be providing the perfect countdown to opening night by introducing "Countdown to Thunder Week" for hockey fans throughout North / Central Florida.

"Countdown to Thunder Week" will begin on Friday, Oct. 3rd at 9:00 p.m. with the premiere of "Lightning Preseason Special." From the debut of the preseason special through Wednesday evening, Oct. 8th, Sun Sports will feature more than 30 hours of Lightning programming, including replays of six of the best Bolts victories from last season and the premiere of a "Top 10 Best of Moments from 2013-14" show. All the coverage will lead Lightning fans up to the Thursday, Oct. 9th season opener versus the rival Florida Panthers.

The "Lightning Preseason Special" show will feature an interview with Jack Adams Award finalist Head Coach Jon Cooper, as well as interviews with Lightning teammates Ben Bishop, Steven Stamkos, Ryan Callahan, Brian Boyle, Anton Stralman and Calder Trophy finalists Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat. On Saturday, Oct. 4th, at 9:00 p.m., an all-new show titled "The Countdown to Thunder" will celebrate the top ten moments of the 2014 Tampa Bay Lightning season, some of which include Steven Stamkos recording his sixth career hat-trick, Ben Bishop setting the team record for saves in a game and the Lightning winning the highest scoring shoot-out in NHL history.
