FOX Sports Wisconsin Midweek Stock Report for Sept. 30
Every Wednesday, FOX Sports Wisconsin takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.
In other words, who is making a meteoric rise, and who is quickly plummeting.
With that in mind, let's "take stock" of the current sports scene in Wisconsin, shall we?
Matt Kenseth
The 43-year-old NASCAR Sprint Cup star continued to do his native Cambridge, Wis., proud on Sunday. On that day, Kenseth won at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, in the second race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. Kenseth outlasted Kevin Harvick down the stretch to win. Kenseth gave Joe Gibbs Racing its fourth straight victory.
Joe Schobert
Schobert, a senior outside linebacker for the Badgers, helped spur Wisconsin's 28-0 defeat of Hawaii last Saturday night, as he recorded a pair of sacks. Schobert, a 6-foot-2, 236-pounder from Waukesha, leads Wisconsin (3-1) in several defensive stat categories so far in 2015, including tackles (28), tackles for loss (9.5) and sacks (6.0).
The Packers' pass rush
Jason Rogers
Rogers has been red-hot at the plate of late. Since last Thursday, the 27-year-old Brewers first baseman has hit .714 (5 for 7) with five RBI, including four courtesy of a pinch-hit grand slam on Sunday in St. Louis, in the ninth inning of an 8-4 Milwaukee win. In 147 big-league at-bats this season, Rogers is hitting .306, with 16 RBI and a pair of triples.
Davante Adams
Green Bay's 22-year-old, second-year receiver was supposed to enjoy a breakout campaign in 2015, but it hasn't happened so far. Adams left Monday night's victory over Kansas City following the first series, after re-aggravating a left ankle injury. So far this season, Adams has nine total catches for 92 yards and no touchdowns.
Domingo Santana
Santana, a promising young outfielder, has had his moments this season -- they just haven't occurred lately. The 23-year-old native of the Dominican Republic has hit .050 (1 for 20) since Sept. 22. Santana's season batting average on Sept. 21 reached .281; now, it has dipped to .250. He has 26 RBI in 148 at-bats this season.
Hernan Perez
This Brewers infielder has seen better days. The 24-year-old from Venezuela has had a horrid week, hitting .071 (1 for 14) since last Wednesday. In 247 at-bats this season, Perez is hitting .235, with one home run and 19 RBI.
