Former Michigan State point guard Kalin Lucas, and Jarnell Stokes, a power forward from Tennessee, were apparently both ejected Tuesday night from a NBA Development League game.

The oddity is that Lucas and Stokes are now teammates for the Iowa Energy, who were in the middle of a team huddle when the fracas broke out during a timeout with 2:29 remaining in the third quarter.

The incident, which took place at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, was was caught on video.

Lucas, the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2009, was giving up 6 inches and 55 pounds to Stokes.

Lucas is listed at 6-1, 195, while Stokes is 6-7, 250.

It's not clear what exactly started the fight, but an announcer for the game broadcast said that Lucas came away "bloodied up a little bit."

What's strange is that the Energy had a four-point lead over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at the time.

Lucas, who went undrafted coming out of MSU in 2011, had 18 points, five assists and five rebounds.

Stokes, the 35th pick overall in last year's NBA Draft, also was having a productive night with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Neither played the rest of the game, which Iowa ended up winning 124-120.

The Energy is the D-League affiliate for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies.
