Former Braves outfielder Matt Diaz joining Braves LIVE
ATLANTA -- Former Atlanta Braves outfielder Matt Diaz will join host Jerome Jurenovich behind the Braves LIVE desk at Turner Field as a pre- and postgame analyst for the Atlanta Braves-Cincinnati Reds series from April 25-27.
Diaz, who enjoyed two stints for the Braves during his 11-year career, retired from Major League Baseball in 2014. He originally came to the Braves in a December 2005 trade and played a total of seven seasons with the ball club.
A career .290 hitter, Diaz recorded a career-best .338 average in 135 games for the Braves in 2007.
Braves LIVE, the pre- and postgame show for every Braves game on FOX Sports South and SportSouth, will be on location from Turner Field for all home game telecasts and on site for select road series. Brian Jordan and Paul Byrd will continue to serve as Braves LIVE analysts throughout the season, as well.
The FOX Sports regional networks, FOX Sports South and SportSouth, are scheduled to televise 156 Braves games in 2014; the most Braves games carried in the history of the networks. Eighty-three games are currently scheduled for SportSouth and 73 games are slated for FOX Sports South. Of the remaining six games in the regular season, FOX Sports 1 will televise three games and the FOX Broadcast Network will televise three games making every regular season Braves game available on a FOX Sports outlet.
