ST. LOUIS -- The Blues have made their first move in what could be a busy final week leading up to Monday's trade deadline.

Columbus forward Adam Cracknell, who made his NHL debut with St. Louis in 2010, doesn't qualify as a big splash for the Blues. He played 65 regular-season games over the next four seasons for the Note and even scored the team's first goal in the 2014 playoffs. But for now, he'll head to the American Hockey League to join the Chicago Wolves in exchange for future considerations.

The former Calgary draft pick had one assist in 17 games for the Blue Jackets and hasn't played in the NHL since Dec. 31. Even in the AHL his numbers haven't been all that impressive, with just four goals and three assists in 18 games for the Springfield Falcons this season.

St. Louis has 14 forwards on its 23-man roster after the recent return of Chris Porter from an ankle injury, though he has typically been left out of the lineup along with Joakim Lindstrom.
