FIU can't hold off Kenneth Dixon in loss to Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. (AP) -- Kenneth Dixon rushed for two touchdowns and hauled in a pass for another to lead Louisiana Tech to a 27-17 win over Florida International on Saturday.

This was Dixon's 11th career game with three or more touchdowns, tying the NCAA record held by Montee Ball. Dixon has 20 games with 100 yards or more rushing in his career.

Dixon, who finished with 169 rushing yards, broke for a 63-yard touchdown run on Tech's first possession and grabbed a 23-yard scoring strike from Jeff Driskel with 8:13 left in the first half. Jonathan Barnes booted a 39-yard field goal to give the Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 Conference USA) a 17-3 lead at the break.

Dixon added a 14-yard scoring run and Barnes kicked a 28-yard field goal in the fourth for a 27-10 lead with 6:36 remaining.

Alex McGough threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns for Florida International (2-2, 0-1).
