Edmonds joins FOX Sports Midwest

Four-time All-Star Jim Edmonds is joining FOX Sports Midwest’s Cardinals broadcast team.
Edmonds will serve as an analyst on Cardinals Live pregame and postgame shows. The eight-time Gold Glove winner joins hosts Pat Parris and Jim Hayes, former Cardinals Al Hrabosky, Rick Horton and Chris Duncan, and play-by-play announcer Dan McLaughlin in the FOX Sports Midwest lineup. He is scheduled to make his FOX Sports Midwest debut on the Cardinals Live pregame show on opening day, April 1.
“I’m excited to try something new and to be involved with Cardinals baseball,” said Edmonds. “This gives me an opportunity to be around the organization, work with the group from FOX and provide fans different insight into the game.”
“Jim is honest and insightful when talking about baseball and we expect he’ll bring unique perspective to our shows,” said FOX Sports Midwest General Manager and Senior Vice President Jack Donovan. “We’re eager to see him join Cardinals Live and I’m sure fans will enjoy hearing his insights.”
He helped lead the Cardinals to six playoff appearances -- including the 2006 World Series title -- in eight seasons (2000-07). In 2000 and 2004 he finished in the top five in National League MVP voting. Edmonds finished his playing career in 2010 and lives in the St. Louis area.
Former Cardinals pitcher Cal Eldred, who was part of FOX Sports Midwest’s Cardinals Live cast from 2009-12, has joined the Cardinals as special assistant to the general manager.
