Ducks' High School Hockey League expands to 48 teams
The Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League (ADHSHL) has added seven new teams.
Now, 48 squads from 41 schools will open their varsity season on Sept. 11 at The Rinks Anaheim Ice.
"We continue to be thrilled with the growth of our league, expanding from one team in 2008 to 48 today," said vice president of The Rinks Art Trottier on Thursday. "It's a great tribute to the growth of youth hockey in Southern California."
The new teams this year are Mater Dei High School, Classical Academy, Chino Valley, Poway United, Bishop (JV), and Carlsbad United (JV).
The Ducks launched the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League on July 1, 2008.
