Proud papa Dillon Gee is back with the Kansas City Royals, who have reinstated the right-handed reliever from the paternity leave list.

Gee, 29, will be in uniform Thursday night against the Tigers. Gee's wife gave birth Monday to a baby girl.

Gee has pitched in two games for the Royals this season, allowing one run, four hits and four walks over five innings.

In a corresponding roster move, the Royals have optioned right-hander Miguel Almonte back to Triple A Omaha. One of the organization's top pitching prospects, Almonte did not appear in a game during his brief call-up.
