This has been a good month for Andy Enfield.
First, the second-year Florida Gulf Coast coach leads the Eagles to the Atlantic Sun tournament title and their first NCAA tournament berth. No matter what happens Friday in the Round of 64 against Georgetown, though, the young coach has quality support at home.
Yes, his wife, Amanda, is a former model. She’s a 5-foot-10 blonde with green eyes who has graced covers of Maxim, Vogue and Elle, as well as appeared in advertisements for Armani, Victoria’s Secret and Liz Claiborne.
According to an April 2011 story in the Naples Daily News, Amanda, a Mustang, Okla., native and an Oklahoma State fan, met Andy when she searched for a way to travel from New York City to Boston to watch the Cowboys in the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2003. A friend introduced the two, and Andy agreed to take her. Apparently, there was a spark, and the two began dating — their first date was to a St. John’s NIT game — and they were engaged six months later.
Andy and Amanda have three kids: daughters, Aila and Lily, and son, Marcum. For Andy, yes, it has been a good month. A good life too.
