Devoe Joseph, a 6-foot-3, 179-pound junior guard, has decided to transfer to Oregon, according to Grassroots Canada AAU coach Ro Russell. Oregon started classes on Monday.

Joseph was averaging a career-high 11.2 points per game in the eight games he played for the Golden Gophers this season. Joseph sat out the team's first six games due to a violation of team rules.

Joseph played in 76 career games in Maroon and Gold, including 25 starts, and finished with averages of 7.7 points, 2.4 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 21.6 minutes played. He leaves the school in ninth place all-time on the Gophers' three-point field goal percentage list at .382 (97-217).

Joseph would have to sit out a year before regaining his college eligibility.

Joseph picked Minnesota over Texas, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech after a standout career at Pickering.

Joseph started the final 17 games of the 2009-10 when then-junior guard Al Nolen was ruled academically ineligible for the second semester. He averaged 10.3 points per game in Nolen's absence and was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team.

Oregon is 7-9 overall and 0-4 in Pac-10 play. They will lose top scorers Joevan Catron and Jay-R Strowbridge, the Ducks' third leading scorer to graduation, but return seven of their top nine scorers, including four players 6-foot-4 or shorter.
