Denny Hamlin schools Twitter haters who question sale of #FreeMatt T-shirts
Remember on Friday when we learned of the new "#FreeMatt" T-shirts being sold in support of Matt Kenseth, who is serving a 2-race NASCAR suspension for deliberately wrecking Joey Logano?
The best part of the offer -- no matter what side of the Kenseth/Logano controversy one comes down on -- is that 100 percent of the proceeds from the $19.99 shirts are going to the Denny Hamlin Foundation, which focuses on raising awareness and funds for the specific needs of children with cystic fibrosis.
Hamlin, one of Kenseth's Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, has therefore naturally been using Twitter to spread the word about the shirts, which can be purchased at mattkensethstore.com along with dennyhamlin.com.
It seems that not everyone is thrilled with the proceeds going to Hamlin's foundation to support a noble cause, however.
Witness the testy exchange Hamlin had with one disgrunted follower on Twitter.
@dennyhamlin Raising funds for your own foundation because of someone else's situation is really pathetic. If Matt had a Foundation, ok.
