D-backs minor league pitcher suspended for PED violation

NEW YORK (AP) -- A minor league pitcher in the Diamondbacks' organization was suspended Friday for 50 games for a drug violation.

The commissioner's office announced the penalty for right-hander Argeny Hiciano under the minor league drug program.

Hiciano is on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Diamondbacks. The 17-year-old's ban for testing positive for metabolites of Boldenone will begin at the start of the league's season.

There have been 29 players suspended this year under the minor league drug program.
