Coyotes reportedly looking at Coliseum as temporary home

The Coyotes have met with officials from Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum about playing there on a temporary basis after their arena lease with the City of Glendale expires in 2017, according to Craig Morgan's report on ArizonaSports.com.
The Coliseum, located on McDowell Road, just east of 19th Avenue, was home of the Phoenix Suns from 1968-1992. It has also been home to several professional hockey teams, including the WHA Phoenix Roadrunners (1974-77) and two minor-league franchises.
The Coyotes are exploring a number of relocation options in the Valley once their agreement with the city of Glendale expires, but the timetable for planning, financing and construction would likely force the team into a temporary arrangement.
Morgan also reported that Coyotes majority owner Andrew Barroway would maintain his 51 percent stake in the Coyotes, a change from previously reported plans to sell nearly half his shared to other members of the IceArizona ownership group.
