Kevin Stocker smacked a two-run home run to right field off left-hander Jesus Sanchez in the bottom of the sixth inning, giving the Devil Rays a 2-1 lead. But the Marlins tied the game in the top of the seventh, when Gregg Zaun scored from third base on Todd Dunwoody’s groundout off right-hander Rolando Arrojo. In the top of the 12th, with the bases loaded, Todd Zeile scored Edgar Renteria from third base on a sacrifice fly to right field off reliever Jim Mecir. Then reliever Antonio Alfonseca finished off the Devil Rays by facing six batters in the bottom half of the inning.
