CFB AM: Texas A&M's new 12-pound hot dog will dominate you
Texas A&M opened up beautifully renovated Kyle Field on Thursday to give people a look at the new facilities prior to the Aggies' home-opener this weekend.
Yes, there are plenty of Johnny Manziel tributes and plenty of first-class features. There's no other way to put it: The new Kyle Field is stunning.
But here's what I want to discuss for a second:

That's a 12-pound hot dog that's new to Kyle Field's menu.
Good Lord.
The "Aggie Dog" is four feet long and was designed by David Picou, the executive chef of Aggie Hospitality at Texas A&M. You're probably wondering, "What in the hell do I do with that thing?"
Great question. I have no idea. You're clearly not buying that and bringing it back to your seat, as A) that would be impossible and really irritate the poor grandma three seats down who you're poking in the eye with your giant dog; B) it appears it's available only on the club and suite level, which offers special amenities.

Texas A&M fans: Are any of you down to try this hot dog at Kyle Field this season? I have so many questions. What's the best way to attack a four-foot, 12-pound hot dog? Do you cut it into four-inch segments and take a slow, civilized approach to eating it? Do you go full Kobayashi and dip it in water to force it down? How many seltzer water breaks do you need in the process of eating this thing? Do you hate yourself for 24 hours or 24 days afterwards?
I don't think I could do it. That's the most intimidating food item in the SEC and would completely dominate me. If any of you daredevils attempt this mission, please take photos of the aftermath and let us know how it goes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY
Ready for Ducks-Spartans, Round II? In the best game of Week 2, Oregon goes to Michigan State to complete the home-and-home series. Who needs a win more here, Oregon and the Pac-12 or Michigan State and the Big Ten? Bruce Feldman and Stewart Mandel discussed that question on The Audible this week with guest Brian Hamilton. There's no question the Pac-12 had a horrid opening week and could badly use this win, but I think it's far more important for Michigan State, because the Spartans have so many fewer opportunities on their schedule to notch impressive wins. Assuming they lose at Ohio State, if that's their only loss and they can boast a win over top-10 Oregon, they're in the playoff discussion. Oregon can afford to lose this game and then rack up numerous impressive Pac-12 wins en route to winning the conference. So I say Spartans need to take this one with their College Football Playoff hopes riding on it.
Bill Connelly breaks down the game, which he has at dead even. Michigan State's Spartan statue was vandalized overnight (by a Michigan frat it appears).
Oklahoma at Tennessee. Are the Vols for real? If they're legitimate SEC contenders this year, they'll handle a solid OU team in Knoxville this weekend. There is so much buzz and positive energy around Butch Jones' program, and everyone is eager to see that translate into legitimate top-25 victories, which the Vols have not had many of in recent history. I think they get it done on a wild Saturday on Rocky Top.
Does Nick Saban have a thing for kickers? I'll let you be the judge, but read what he said while defending his kickers on his radio show on Thursday.
Coach, coach -- we're trying to keep this PG. Kickers probably get unlimited rides in Saban's new $200,000 Mercedes soccer mom van.
Hawaii will wear retro rainbow uniforms this week. These are gonna totally scare the crap out of Ohio State.
LASTLY
* Diddy is not expected to be charged in the UCLA fight case in which he allegedly attacked a coach with a kettle bell.
* For those of you who are deep into daily fantasy: Western Kentucky beat Louisiana Tech on Thursday night but lost its running back to a leg injury.
* The Backyard Brawl is back! We have to wait until 2022, but at least Pitt and West Virginia will resume their rivalry at some point.
* I can't believe it's been 14 years since 9/11. I think about the attacks quite a bit during the year -- not sure why, just do -- and on this day especially, we all give thanks to the New York fire and police departments that helped so many and gave so much, as well as all departments around the country that live on call to help us. For the families and friends directly and tragically impacted by Sept. 11, 2001, I hope you find a reason to smile and laugh today.
