The St. Louis Cardinals haven't had much trouble with the long ball of late -- they've homered in their last 20 games, in fact, a franchise record -- but they add another slugger to their lineup with the return of first baseman Matt Adams from the 15-day disabled list.
Adams, who was dealing with right shoulder inflammation, had been sidelined since Aug. 10.
Adams, 28, appeared in five games for Triple-A Memphis during an injury rehabilitation assignment, batting .188 (3 for 16) with a home run and double. He reached base safely in all five games, walking twice in each of his last two.

In 95 games with the Cardinals this season, Adams is batting .249 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs.
