BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns signed wide receiver Lee Doss to the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday.
A 6-1, 185-pound rookie from Southern (La.) University, Doss originally signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent on May 15 and spent training camp and preseason with the team. Doss appeared in three games and posted one reception for 12 yards during the preseason, prior to being waived by the Redskins on Aug. 29.
In 33 career games at Southern (2011-13), Doss recorded 177 receptions for 2,280 yards (12.9 avg.) with 23 touchdowns.
Doss fills the Browns' open practice squad slot that became available after the Minnesota Vikings signed WR Charles Johnson to their active roster on Sept. 20.
