Brewers reinstate pitchers Guerra, Barnes
The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Friday that starting pitcher Junior Guerra and reliever Jacob Barnes have been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list following lengthy absences.
Guerra is now on track to start Friday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but hasn't pitched for the Brewers since Aug. 3 after battling a right-elbow injury.
Barnes hasn't pitched for the Brewers since July 25 and was sidelined with elbow soreness after registering a 3.71 ERA in his first 17 innings for Milwaukee, allowing just 17 hits.
The team also announced that right-handed pitcher Ben Rowen is expected to make his Brewers debut on Friday after being called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Claimed off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on Aug. 4, Rowen has a 1.69 ERA through 10 2/3 innings for the Sky Sox.
