Brewers prospect Hader records strikeout at Futures Game


Milwaukee Brewers prospect Josh Hader struck out the only batter he faced in Sunday's All-Star Futures Game, but he and the U.S. team lost 11-3 to the World team 11-3 at Petco Park in San Diego.
Hader, who pitches for Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate, Colorado Springs, entered the game with two outs in the top of the eighth with the USA trailing the World team 4-3. He struck out Miami prospect Josh Naylor to end the inning.
The World team scored seven runs in the inning.
The 22-year-old Hader has a 2-3 record with a 2.56 ERA with 104 strikeouts in 16 starts (81 innings) this season for Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Colorado Springs. Hader had a 0.95 ERA in 11 starts with Biloxi before he was promoted June 11. He's 0-2 with a 6.38 ERA in five starts (24 innings) at Triple-A.
Red Sox prospect Yoan Moncada hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning Sunday and earned MVP honors. Cubs prospect Eloy Jimenez added two hits and four RBI.
