Brewers minor-league stars of the week: July 20

Each week FOXSportsWisconsin.com identifies the top pitcher and position player from the Milwaukee Brewers' top four main affiliates: Triple-A Colorado Springs, Double-A Biloxi, High-A Brevard County and Low-A Wisconsin. Here's a look at all eight players who made the list for the week of June 29 to July 5.

TRIPLE-A COLORADO SPRINGS (4-0)

Player of the Week: Jason Rogers

Week stats: .500 (6 for 12), 3 HR, 7 RBI

Recent highlights: Have a week, Jason Rogers. Er, have two. It's back-to-back offensive honors for the 27-year-old first baseman since being sent down to the minors by the Brewers. Rogers helped the Sky Sox to four wins with his slugging (three homers, seven RBI) and his ability to get on-base -- he had six hits, drew five walks and scored five runs in the four games. He's hitting .391 on the season with a 1.192 OPS.

Pitcher of the Week: Hiram Burgos

Week stats: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Recent highlights: It was a very good week for the Sky Sox rotation, as each of the four starters that pitched performed well and got the victory. Burgos' outing was best, though, as the 27-year-old Puerto Rican threw six shutout innings (in 85 pitches) to pick up the third of four wins over New Orleans. Burgos, who debuted with the Brewers in 2013, is 7-5 on the season with a 3.79 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and 109 strikeouts -- to just 38 walks -- in 102 innings.

DOUBLE-A BILOXI (2-3)

Player of the Week: Orlando Arcia

Week stats: .294 (5 for 17), 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 SB

Recent highlights: Arcia, the Brewers' top prospect, wins the award for the second week in a row. He played in four of the Shuckers' five games and only had multiple hits one time. But during a quiet offensive week for the team, he was the relative standout, showing his power and speed. For the season, the 20-year-old shortstop is batting .313 (.817 OPS) with five homers and 50 RBI with 14 steals in 84 games.

Pitcher of the Week: Tyler Wagner

Week stats: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K

Recent highlights: Wagner gets the nod here, despite losing his July 18 decision to Chattanooga. His 11th quality start of the year wasn't enough, as a fourth-inning Shuckers error led to two unearned runs. His nine strikeouts were a season high and just one short of his career high, though. For the season, the 24-year-old starter is 6-5 with a 2.53 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP and 75 strikeouts -- to just 28 walks -- in 99 2/3 innings.

HIGH-A BREVARD COUNTY (4-2)

Player of the Week: Garrett Cooper

Week stats: .478 (11 for 23), 2 HR, 7 RBI

Recent highlights: Cooper had a scorching week, putting together four multi-hit games in six contests. The 24-year-old third baseman had two homers, two doubles, seven RBI and four runs scored, while only striking out twice. For the season, Cooper is batting .284 (.761 OPS) with four home runs, 26 doubles and 43 RBI in 90 games.

Pitcher of the Week: Cy Sneed

Week stats: 7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K

Recent highlights: Jorge Ortega had a couple of nice starts last week, but Sneed's artful performance against Fort Myers on July 15 gives him the edge. The 22-year-old starter with the handlebar moustache didn't get the decision in the Manatees' win but showed deft control over his seven innings of work. On the season, Sneed is 4-8 with a 2.74 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP and 79 strikeouts -- to just 18 walks -- in 95 1/3 innings.

LOW-A WISCONSIN (1-4)

Player of the Week: Dustin DeMuth

Week stats: .429 (6 for 14), 3 RBI, 2 R

Recent highlights: In four contests this week, DeMuth had a couple of multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 performance in Wisconsin's only win. In that game, a 3-2 triumph over Quad Cities, the 23-year-old third baseman doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. For the season, DeMuth is batting .285 (.749 OPS) with five home runs and 35 RBI in 86 games.

Pitcher of the Week: David Burkhalter

Week stats: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Recent highlights: In that lone Wisconsin win on July 17, Burkhalter quieted Quad Cities with six shutout innings. He only struck out one batter but neutralized any damage he allowed with control and effective pitching, picking up the victory. For the season, the 19-year-old starter is 3-5 with a 4.07 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP and 63 strikeouts -- to just 16 walks -- in 66 1/3 innings.
