September 5, 2017

The Milwaukee Brewers selected the contract of Triple-A outfielder Quintin Berry on Tuesday, while designating right-handed pitcher Aaron Brooks for assignment.

A 32-year-old journeyman, Berry signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League earlier this year after starting the season with the Minnesota Twins' Triple-A affiliate, before his contract was purchased by the Brewers in August.

Berry was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2003 and has spent time in various organizations over the years, including the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins.

Berry is hitting .286/.375/.452 in 10 appearances for Triple-A Colorado Springs this season. Known for his speed, Berry, who hasn't played in the majors since 2015, has stolen 26 bases in 27 attempts in his MLB career.
