Blues sign forward Jeremy Welsh to a one-year contract
Doug Armstrong, the St. Louis Blues' president of hockey operations and general manager, announced Tuesday the club has signed forward Jeremy Welsh to a one-year, two-way contract.
Welsh, 27, appeared in 75 games last season with the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, ranking fourth on the club with 41 points, including 20 goals and 21 assists. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward also added two points (one goal, one assist) in five postseason contests.
Overall, the Bayfield, Ontario, native has appeared in 25 career National Hockey League regular-season games, including stints with Vancouver and Carolina, totaling two points (one goal, one assist) and 10 penalty minutes. In addition, Welsh has accumulated 82 points (41 goals, 41 assists) and 62 penalty minutes in 193 career AHL regular-season games and five points (one goal, four assists) in 10 AHL postseason appearances.
