Badgers add Nevada coordinator as LBs coach

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema filled out another position on his coaching staff on Wednesday when he announced the hiring of Any Buh as the Badgers' linebackers coach. Buh spent the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Nevada.
"I've known about Andy for several years and had the chance to visit with him at the coaches' convention in San Antonio recently," Bielema said in a statement. "I came away very impressed with his teaching ability, his passion and his personality."
In the last two years, Buh (pronounced "Boo") helped Nevada to a 20-7 record. The Wolf Pack won the Western Athletic Conference title in 2010 and defeated Boston College in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Nevada ranked 18th in the country in rushing defense that season.
"I'm very excited and enthused about joining the University of Wisconsin football staff," Bush said in a statement. "I'm thrilled with this opportunity and can't wait to hit the field running. Coach Bielema has given me the opportunity of a lifetime and I'm humbled to be a part of his staff."
Prior to coming to Nevada, Buh spent three seasons at Stanford. He began as a linebackers coach and was promoted to co-defensive coordinator under then-Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh.
Buh replaces former linebackers coach Dave Huxtable, who left the program to become an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh.
Buh's hiring marks the fourth addition to the Badgers' coaching staff this offseason. Bielema hired Matt Canada as offensive coordinator from Northern Illinois and Zach Azzanni as wide receivers coach from Western Kentucky. He also brought in Mike Markuson, who previously coached at Mississippi, to serve as offensive line coach.
