Anderson Silva would be honored to walk to the Octagon with DMX

Pound-for-pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather has made it a habit to turn his ring entrances into a spectacle almost as grand as his fights. He usually walks out with an entourage that would make Vincent Chase jealous and often times even has his favorite musicians accompany him to the ring.

Before he was challenging Mayweather to a reading contest, 50 Cent walked out with the multitime champion, and recently both Lil' Wayne and Justin Bieber escorted him to the ring.

No one in the UFC has managed to pull off anything quite so extreme for a walkout, although James Te Huna doing the full "Men in Black" routine was pretty awesome. While some fighters like to change up their walkout music or pick something that goes along with each particular fight, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has stayed loyal to one track for his entire career in the Octagon.

So any time the DMX song "No Sunshine" hits the speakers in a UFC arena, just about every middleweight on the roster feels a shiver go down their spine.

As Silva prepares for his return to action on Jan. 31 against Nick Diaz, he was asked recently about the possibility of including DMX as part of his walk to the cage for UFC 183.

"It would be an honor. I was always a fan of DMX, I loved his music. Not all the other stuff he does in his private life, but I'm a big fan of his music. He's a very talented guy," Silva said recently.

"He got lost along the way, but I think it would be cool. It would be something we've never seen. The guy coming in singing my song? Oh my God, my legs would be shaking! That walkout, your legs shake, you have no idea. You always feel like walking backwards, but it would be cool."

DMX has not only been one of the most successful hip-hop artists of the past decade, but he's also had more than a few run-ins with law enforcement, which is what Silva was referencing when he said the rapper lost his way.

Silva's comeback could be a golden opportunity for DMX to seize the spotlight as well by walking to the Octagon with the greatest fighter of all time.

Maybe the best part about this entire scenario playing out? The track "No Sunshine" by DMX was originally featured on the soundtrack to the film "Exit Wounds" starring none other than Silva's personal celebrity trainer himself -- Steven Seagal.

So add Seagal to the walkout entourage along with DMX, and Silva's walkout at UFC 183 could possibly be the most spectacular entrance in mixed martial arts history.
