Aggie tweet takes jab at Longhorns
Even if Texas A&M and Texas are no longer conference rivals, they sure still know how to get under each other's skin.
Texas A&M defensive back Toney Hurd Jr. is the perfect proof.
Just after the Longhorns got steamrolled for 550 rushing yards in a 40-21 loss at BYU, Hurd took to Twitter and offered this up: Texas A&M is the university of Texas.
The late night Saturday tweet drew nearly 1,400 retweets and the comment found its way back to Austin.
Texas head coach Mack Brown, who has bigger issues this week following the firing of defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, took some time to address Hurd’s comment Wednesday.
Or at least brush it off.
"We are the university of Texas in this state and will be, regardless of what some (Texas A&M) kid tweets," Brown told the Austin American-Statesman.
Wonder if that will still be the case if the Aggies can upset No. 1-ranked Alabama Saturday at Kyle Field.
