FORT WORTH, Texas -- The US Anti-Doping Agency says it will ask the court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by track coach Jon Drummond, calling the case "baseless."

Drummond, a former Olympic sprinter, accuses USADA and Tyson Gay in a lawsuit filed this week of defamation by suggesting he encouraged Gay to use creams with banned substances. Drummond says he tried to throw out potentially banned supplements and accused Gay of lying to investigators to gain a lighter suspension.

Gay is the American 100-meter record holder once coached by Drummond. He is serving a one-year suspension for using a banned substance.

USADA says in a statement it wants the court to dismiss Drummond's lawsuit "in favor of the well-established arbitration process."

A message was left with Drummond's lawyer.
