Hefti wins 2-man bob World Cup race, European title

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (AP) Beat Hefti of Switzerland won a two-man bobsled World Cup race on his home course Saturday to also be crowned European champion.
Hefti, the Sochi Olympics silver medalist, and brakeman Alex Baumann were .18 seconds faster than United States pair Steven Holcomb and Carlo Valdes over two runs down the Olympia course.
Holcomb had the fastest speeds both times, peaking at 144 kph (89.5 mph), but Hefti's driving was superior.
Nico Walther and Christian Poser of Germany placed third, trailing Hefti by .20, and took the European silver medal. Bronze went to another German crew, Maximilian Arndt and Kevin Kuske.
Won Yun-jong with brakeman Seo Young-woo of South Korea placed fifth and retained his World Cup standings lead over Walther.
