Key dates for the Minnesota Vikings' 2017 offseason

With no games left to play in the 2016 season, the Minnesota Vikings must now shift their focus to the 2017 offseason in an effort to improve their roster.Unfortunately, the Minnesota Vikings were not one of the 12 NFL teams to qualify for the 2016 playoffs this season. It has definitely been one of the most disappointing years in the franchise’s history, but now the team has a lot of time this offseason to make sure they improve in 2017.Over the next four months, a number of events will be taking place that will play a giant part in how successful the Vikings can truly be next season.January 2: Minnesota has from this date until to May 3 to exercise the fifth-year options on their first round selections from the 2014 NFL Draft. Linebacker Anthony Barr and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater are the two Vikings players eligible this offseason and it would be very surprising if the team did not exercise the options for both of these players. A number of Minnesota’s current players have played in this annual game including Willie Beavers (2016), Kentrell Brothers (2016), T.J.
