Updated: NASCAR national touring series point standings heading to Phoenix

Published Nov. 12, 2015 1:00 p.m. ET

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup is headed for the final elimination race before the title fight at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but all three of the national touring series feature a close championship points battle headed into this weekend's events at Phoenix International Raceway.

Only four drivers will move on to fight for the Chase for the Sprint Cup at Homestead, but there are still plenty of points positions up for grabs over the final two weekends of the season. The 16 original Chase drivers will fill the top 16 spots in the standings, with Aric Almirola and Kasey Kahne battling for the best-of-the-rest 17th spot.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series championship battle heads to Phoenix International Raceway with four drivers still in the hunt. Roush Fenway Racing's Chris Buescher has maintained the points lead since the May race at Talladega Superspeedway, and heads to Phoenix with a 24-point advantage over defending series champion Chase Elliott.

After scoring the victory last Friday night in Texas, Erik Jones was able to extend his points lead over two-time defending Camping World Truck Series champion Matt Crafton, but the margin remains a slim 17 points. Tyler Reddick is still in the hunt as well, sitting 21 points behind Jones headed into this weekend's race.
