A trust fund has been established for the 5-year-old son of Jason Leffler, the NASCAR driver who died earlier this week in a racing accident.

The Charlie Dean Leffler Discretionary Trust will be overseen by trustees Harry Scott Jr., the Turner Scott Motorsports co-owner, former Braun Racing owner Todd Braun and Great Clips CFO Steve Overholser.

Leffler died Wednesday night from injuries suffered in a sprint car crash at Bridgeport Speedway in Swedesboro, N.J. A medical examiner determined Leffler died from a blunt force neck injury. He was 37.

A funeral service for Leffler will be held next Wednesday in Cornelius at Grace Covenant Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The Charlie Dean Leffler Discretionary Trust:
