The 8 winless Sprint Cup drivers most likely to change that next
Kyle Busch won't win every race this year, although it sure seems like he might after consecutive weekend sweeps at Martinsville and Texas and Bristol up next.
The first seven races of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series have produced five different winners so far, and if the rest of the year follows historical patterns, there likely will be six to 10 other drivers who will win Cup races this year.
Here are the eight drivers who are winless so far in 2016 but are most likely to find Victory Lane this year.
8. CHASE ELLIOTT -- Officially, Elliott is a rookie, but he sure doesn't drive like one. Elliott's confidence and experience are building, as he is more than holding his own so far.
7. AUSTIN DILLON -- One of the most pleasant surprises of 2016 so far is the speed in the Richard Childress Racing Chevrolets. At some point, that will transfer to a victory for Dillon.
6. MATT KENSETH -- Bad luck is temporary; talent isn't. Sooner or later, Kenseth's streak of unfortunate breaks will end and he'll win again. And when he does, he could post some big numbers.
5. KURT BUSCH -- Although Stewart-Haas Racing had an uncharacteristic off-week at Texas, they are still an elite team and Busch is still an elite driver.
4. JOEY LOGANO -- Last year, Logano won six races, most of anyone in the Cup Series. The Team Penske Fords are a little behind in speed right now, but they're close.
3. MARTIN TRUEX JR. -- Furniture Row's move to Toyota has paid huge dividends for Truex, who already has come close to winning at Daytona and Texas.
2. DALE EARNHARDT JR. -- Already this season, Earnhardt has a pair of top-five finishes at 1.5-mile tracks. Plus, he's always a threat to win at Daytona and Talladega.
