Sprint Cup Series starting lineup: Cheez-It 355 at The Glen

In what amounted to no big surprise, road-course ace AJ Allmendinger captured the pole for Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International.

Allmendinger, who is seeking his second consecutive victory at the 2.45-mile road course, was followed in the top five by Martin Truex Jr., Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon.
