Remembering our friend and colleague Steve Byrnes
April 21 marks the one year anniversary of the death of longtime FOX Sports reporter and "NASCAR Race Hub" host Steve Byrnes.
Byrnes died last year after a lengthy and courageous battle with head and neck cancer.
His professionalism, his enthusiasm and his work ethic made him a champion and made those who knew him better people as a result.
He was a great friend to all of us at FOX Sports and in the entire NASCAR community, and a wonderful husband to his wife, Karen, and father to their son, Bryson.
Shortly before his death, Steve Tweeted "I went the distance" after staying up late to watch the spring 2015 Bristol race, which was renamed the Food City 500 in support of Steve Byrnes and Stand Up To Cancer in his honor.
Indeed he did go the distance.
And we sure miss you today, Steve.
