RCR signs Burton, sponsor Caterpillar to extension

Richard Childress Racing has signed Jeff Burton to a multiyear contract extension.
The team also said Tuesday it has signed Caterpillar to continue as sponsor of the No. 31 Chevrolet that Burton has driven since 2004.
Burton has won four races and made the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship in four of his five full seasons with RCR.
The contract extension locks up three of RCR's four drivers. Kevin Harvick signed an extension last year, while Paul Menard is in his first year with the team. Clint Bowyer is the only driver now unsigned past 2011.
