Rain, rain ... won't go away: Trucks postponed until Saturday
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will have to wait one more night to race.
That's because ongoing misting and rains forced the postponement of Friday night's Lucas Oil 225 Truck Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. Instead, the race will be run at approximately 7 p.m. ET Saturday, following the scheduled NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the 1.5-mile Illinois oval.
Johnny Sauter will start from the pole in his No. 98 Nextant/Curb Records Toyota, flanked by Brennan Newberry in the No. 9 Qore-24 Chevrolet, with Jeb Burton's No. 13 Estes-Carolina Nut Co. Toyota and Austin Dillon's No. 20 Rheem Chevrolet on Row 2. Young guns Ryan Blaney and the No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford and Bubba Wallace's No. 54 ToyotaCare Toyota roll of from Row 3.
Kyle Busch, winner of six of the seven Truck Series races he has entered this year, will have to start from the back of the field, because Erik Jones drove Busch's truck during Friday morning's practice.
With 14 races in the books already, Sauter leads Matt Crafton by 7 points, with Blaney (-13) third and Wallace (-38) fourth.
