Pirelli is new tire supplier to Formula 1

Formula One's governing body says Pirelli has been chosen as the circuit's new tire supplier.

The FIA says the three-year contract will begin in 2011.

The announcement was made at a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Geneva on Wednesday.

Bridgestone, the current tire supplier to the championship, said in November it would withdraw at the end of this season.
