An out-of-control racecar veered off the track and into the crowd during an event west of Brisbane on Saturday, Australian public broadcaster the ABC reported.

Three people were taken to hospital, including the driver, Australian Associated Press reported.

The Mini was taking part in the lead-up Mini Challenge race at the Ipswich 300 V8 Supercars event at Willowbank raceway. It cartwheeled over a protective barrier at turn six and flipped into the crowd.
