NASCAR fan's dream comes true at Daytona 500

In a chance encounter during a taping of 'NASCAR Race Hub' on Super Bowl week in Houston, cancer survivor Lisa Smith, and her husband Howard were selected by one of the show's producers to answer a trivia question on-air for a chance to win Daytona 500 tickets.

When Howard correctly answered that honorary Daytona 500 starter LaDainian Tomlinson went to college at TCU, the couple were handed an envelope with Daytona 500 tickets in it.

They didn't believe it.

"When the cameras went away, I told Howard 'look in the envelope, do you think it's like dinner tickets or something,'" Lisa said. "Oh my gosh, they weren't kidding, there's two tickets to the Daytona 500 in here."

While Lisa was battling through her illness, counting down to the Daytona 500 and following NASCAR was one of her biggest motivators.

Through the recovery, Lisa was inspired by Sherry Pollex, and became a fan of her partner, Martin Truex Jr.

"Well, that's a first that someone was ever a fan of mine before his," Pollex said after surprising Lisa during the filming of the interview. "Usually it's the other way around but I'm honored."
