Larry McReynolds takes issue with Kyle Busch, applauds Kevin Harvick

Coming off an all-around rough weekend at Auto Club Speedway, Kyle Busch has been under fire for blowing off his post-race media obligations and criticizing NASCAR after Saturday's XFINITY Series race.

Just moments after losing the lead and the race as a result of a tire failure, Busch lambasted NASCAR over his in-car radio, saying, "Debris all over the racetrack and they don't throw a yellow. I'm just so pleased with you NASCAR. Thanks. Y'all are awesome. Fixing races."

Busch, who finished second to Austin Dillon, then chose not to meet the requirement that the second-place finisher reporter to the media center.

While NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer Steve O'Donnell told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Monday that the sanctioning body would review Busch's actions, FOX NASCAR analyst Larry McReynolds was more outspoken in offering an opinion of how Busch conducted himself at Fontana.

"Saying things and doing things like what he's doing right now is not the way you represent our sport," McReynolds said of the reigning Sprint Cup champion. "And, quite honestly, the things that he said on the radio (at Fontana) that NASCAR is fixing or rigging races, it actually offends me, and I know it has to offend NASCAR, and I don't think NASCAR's going to take too kindly."

McReynolds then praised 2014 Sprint Cup champion Kevin Harvick, who finished second to Jimmie Johnson in Sunday's Sprint Cup race.

"If anybody had a right to walk off and decline interviews, it would have been Kevin Harvick," McReynolds said. "He dominated the race and then lost it and finished second, but he gave that interview because Kevin Harvick fans wanted to hear what he had to say."
