Four-time Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon bid Dave Despain a "bittersweet" farewell as the final interview on SPEED's long-running "Wind Tunnel" program Sunday evening.
A frequent guest on the program, Gordon described himself as a "big fan of the show" before the pair discussed Gordon's favorite career moments, his advice for young drivers, driving an F1 car, and even star-gazing.
In closing the interview, Gordon thanked Despain for his well-respected work over the years.
"Your passion, your opinions – I love the fact you speak your own opinions – it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks," he said. "I think everyone respects that. I certainly do."
